Today I'm starting a new daily Music News feature on my blog. Check back each day for the latest with what's going on in the world of music! I hope you like it :)
We assumed it was going to happen, but today Adele confirmed that she will indeed be performing at the Grammy Awards on 2/12. She joins the list of performers which includes Coldplay & Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson & Jason Aldean, and yes, a Beatle, none other than Sir Paul McCartney.
There will be no Paula Abdul or Nicole Scherzinger next season on the X-Factor, as both judges were fired, as well as host Steve Jones. None of the 3 will be returning in the fall when X-Factor returns. I'm assuming this means the search is on yet again for a new judge or two.
The All-American Rejects have a new CD due out in March, and their new song "Beekeeper's Daughter" has been up on the Hot New Music Page for a couple weeks now. They'll be performing the song tonight on 90210 on the CW.
And speaking of TV, don't forget that tonight is the big Michael Jackson episode of Glee! For the song list, see yesterday's post.
Breathe Carolina is coming back to Sac! They'll be performing at the Sac State Ballroom on March 8. Tickets go on sale this weekend through tickets.com.
Like I mentioned on the air yesterday, Justin Bieber MAY be the host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live later this year. Alec Baldwin mentioned this yesterday in a podcast he did with SNL producer Lorne Greene, and more outlets are now reporting it. Still no confirmation from the SNL folk however, I'll let you know when I hear more.
Mike Posner stopped by the station yesterday, and said that his 2nd CD, entitled Sky High will be released in late summer/early fall. While it looks like "Looks Like Sex," his first single from the album, is going to fall short of reaching the Top 40, he played a few other tracks from the CD which I thought sounded great, including "IDGAF (I Don't Give A F***)" and "Boyfriend."
And last but not least, we now have a title and date for Madonna's new CD. M.D.N.A. will be released on March 26. Of course she will be the halftime performer at this weekend's Super Bowl, during which she'll be debuting her new song "Give Me All Your Lovin'" featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., who will both be joining Madonna on stage on Sunday,
