My Tips to Online Dating

In March, I will celebrate 5 years with my husband (aka, the love of my life) and I have online dating to thank for it.
When I split up with my ex, the first thing I did was create an online dating profile (Yahoo Personals was my site of choice). Emma was two years old, I worked full time, I didn't want to meet someone in a club and I didn't want to date anyone that I worked with. My goal was not to meet the man of my dreams... the goal was to meet new people... have new experiences... date...and if I am being totally honest, rebuild my self esteem and get a little attention.
Well let me tell you that ON LINE DATING IS A BLAST!!! So here are a few tips to meeting a great guy, safely, while having a lot of fun.
Do's
-Be honest … If you are a little thick… say so. Don’t pretend to be something or someone that you aren’t cause you can’t pull it off for long!
-Have a great picture. Not one of you wasted or with your boobs hanging out… a little cleavage is fine but no more than that.
-So now you've got his interest… chat online, in real time so he can get a sense of your personality and you can do the same. Feel free to webcam (the good kind!) and send photos.
-Swap numbers if you feel that great about him. Talk to him on the phone, not just through messages. Get a feel for the kind of person he is in his day to day life.
Dont's
-Don't come across as needy! Yes be excited about online dating and having men a finger click away, but do not pounce on every man that shows interest or is in your top ten matches that day.
-Profile wise, don't state you want 2.0 kids and marriage in the next 18 months… that scares most men and the ones that it doesn’t scare… have their own issues.
-Message wise, if he's taken a real interest in you, and emailed you about something you share in common along with a witty tale about a moment in his life, he's a keeper. On the other hand, 'babe, you look hot. I like chinese food too, msg me back. xxxx' is a sign of a man who is only out for one thing and it’s not your witty personality.
-Don't expect him to take down his profile after your date. It’s a hard ugly fact but he's probably dating other people and you should.
-Don’t stalk his profiles page… you will only make yourself crazy!
My final piece of advice… if you feel like you are trying really hard to find “Mr. Right”… take a few weeks off and try again later. Online dating should be fun and easy!!!!
