After a high school girl in Arizona was given detention for hugging a freind, her school enacted a Public Display of Affection policy. This policy includes a list of acceptable ways of displaying affection. For the entire story click here.
The list includes, stopping and talking in halls, shaking a friend's hand and patting him on the back (a man's hug), draping an arm around in a hook hug, holding hands, linking arms, and hugging for no longer than 2 seconds.
This list may seem juvenile, but for us it is not so childish. As a rule we do not touch each other, for no particular reason, it is just not something we are comfortable doing. So we made Kelly and Gavin act out the list and filmed the whole awkward thing.
