It is a known rule for people who work on the Wake Up Call that Jason, Kelly, and Gavin do not touch each other. Never, no matter what the circumstances. So when we decided to have Kelly and Gavin act out the Public Display of Affection policy for a middle school, it was a big, awkward situation (which we filmed and can be seen here).
But after it was all done we realized that Jason had gotten off pretty easy in the matter, so we came back and had listeners suggest what kind of PDA acts him and Gavin should act out.
I wanted to tell you that I have recently been going thru a lot of emotional turmoil and have been very depressed- and seeking help has not been really working. So I am driving to school this morning- dreading it- not wanting to go- just wanting to curl up in bed and sleep for a year- and almost crying out of utter despair (very dramatic I know) and then you three started to do your pda bit- and the funny thing is- I couldn’t even see you or anything- only hear (obviously its radio) and the whole thing was so funny-just picturing it, and the groans from you two guys at having to do these things- I mean- I was literally laughing out loud- really hard- and now I was crying from tears of laughter (talk about an emotional roller coaster).
The point is- it totally refreshed me- and I mean its been days and days since I felt this good. I like snapped out of my slump and sat up straight- pulled my hair back- rolled down the window- let the cool air hit my face- and I felt like a different person- went to school- participated in class and the whole 9yards. I feel like a different person today and well I just wanted to thank you- imagine that. Imagine that a therapist and a pastor and my mom and my boyfriend couldn’t help me feel better- but listening to your morning show was the best medicine- you guys deserve a psych license or something- you could heal the millions suffering from depression if only you could get your message to the world instead of one region in California. Anyways- I listen to you guys all the time- not lately- my son has been demanding to listen to Disney soundtracks in the morning (he’s 3) but I love you and ima get him an mp3 player so I can listen every morning (j/k lol)
Also just a little addition- Gavin ur my favorite- when you had that thing with your dad on your birthday- not getting a card or a gift or a call- my heart went out to you- my father doesn’t even know my birthday- and every few years when I contact him (he never contacts me) he asks- “so how old are you again?” and I am his first born! 6 years older than his 2nd. How can he not know? Anyways – at least your dad knows how old you are huh? But it still hurts when a parent acts like that. Don’t take this offensively but you are like a little boy in so many ways- at least that’s what I think of when I hear you on air- in a good way- ur just so cute- your wife (or is she your girlfriend, cant remember) probably finds that a very endearing quality as well.
